Bec Hingley

Rebecca Hingley has a PhD in Antarctic geopolitics and heritage from the School of Humanities and Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies at the University of Tasmania (Hobart, Australia). Her thesis is titled, Dilapidated Huts and Piles of Rocks: The Geopolitics of Cultural Heritage in Antarctica. Prior to her PhD candidacy, Rebecca completed a Master of International Affairs at the Australian National University (Canberra, Australia). She has interned for the Australian Antarctic Division and the International Polar Heritage Committee, and is an active member of the Hobart polar community having volunteered for the Mawson’s Huts Foundation and helped organise the Australian Antarctic Festival.
