Javier Mejuto

Javier Mejuto is Astrophysicist and Archaeologist, specialized in Cultural Astronomy and Astronomical Heritage.

Since 2014 he is the Head of Archaeoastronomy and Cultural Astronomy Department at Space Sciences, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras. In 2015 Area Coordinator for Archaeoastronomy at Research Institute for Archaeoastronomy and Cultural and Natural Heritage (IARPACUNA). He also lead the Central american and Caribbean Initiative in Astronomical Heritage.

He is member of ICOMOS Honduras serving in  International Committee on Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICICH) as Expert member and Founder Member of ICOMOS AeroSpace Heritage Task Force. He is also member of the Polar Archeology Network (PAN)

He is currently developing an initiative that aims to have a presence of the Central American presence in Antarctic research.
